A born leader Alicia led her team all season long from both
ends of the court. In arguably the best conference in the nation Alicia earned
All ACC 3rd team honors for the second straight year, and earned All Conference
1st team defensive honors for the third straight year. An excellent on the ball
defender, Alicia can defend three positions and disrupt any team’s offensive
game plan. Offensively she is virtually un-guardable. Able to post up smaller
guards and score from the post, or take any defender off the dribble and take
her to the basket, or pull up and hit the jumper from anywhere on the court. She
has excellent range with her shot and an array of moves to get to the basket.
Runs the court extremely well and goes hard the whole time she is on the court.
A versatile player that can and has played both guard positions as well as small
forward. Willing to do whatever is asked of her and is very coachable. Very
smart player that can run any offense and knows when and how to score in any
situation.
All season long, all you kept hearing about this team was "They're so young.
They have just one senior.." which says an awful lot about the future of this
program but that one senior, Alicia Gladden, is leaving some pretty large shoes
to fill. As team captain, Alicia was instrumental in pulling this young team
together and guiding them to places no other FSU women's basketball team has
